An all-day excursion across the magical Venetian lagoon to the quaint characteristic fishing port of Chioggia, one of the most important fishing centres of the Adriatic. This almost miniature Venice with cars is located between the lagoon and the open sea. The ride out by private boat is beautiful and evocative – passing the islands of the Lido, San Lazzaro degli Armeni, Lazzaretto Vecchio, Poveglia and Pellestrina.

Accompanied by your hostess, you will enjoy a stroll through the bustling historic centre before proceeding to your next stop, the narrow fishing island of Pellestrina, which protects Venice from the open sea.

You will find its quaint villages and gaily coloured fishermen’s cottages extremely relaxing – quite another world - and lunch will be in a typical local trattoria – a favourite of Venetians - where a dizzying array of delicious fresh fish is served.

After lunch, and following a picturesque stroll on the island, you will proceed back across the lagoon to the historic Armenian Island of San Lazzaro. The Armenians form one of the oldest foreign communities in Venice and their island is idyllic – an onion-shaped cupola, old cloisters, precious paintings, interesting exhibits, priceless books, an ancient printing-press – with a backdrop of perfumed gardens and orchards.
